The chakras are described as being aligned in an ascending column from the base of the back to the top of the head. New Age practices frequently associate each chakr a with a particular color.
In assorted traditions chakras are affiliated with multiple physiological functions,an facet of consciousness, a classical element, and other distinguishing features. They're visualized as lotuses/ flowers with a assorted n umber of petals in every chakr a.
The chakr as ar e thought to vitalize the physical body and to be affiliated with inter actions of a physical, emotional and m ental nature. The purpose of the chakras is to spin and attract
in energy to keep the spiritual,
m ental, em otion al and physical
wellness of th e body in balance.
They're stated by som e to reflect how the unified consciousn
ess of hum anity is divided to m an age assorted facets of earthly life. It is as well associated
to spiritual h ealing.

When people em bark on a journ ey of self-discovery, they com m only focus on the physical and em otional side of their person ality. Rarely do people consider the im portan ce of spiritual self-discovery, even if they identify
as spiritual side to their personality. When we take th e tim e to explor e the part of our psyche that we som etim es call spirit or soul, we discover a unique and different
aspect to our personality we m ay not even have
realized existed.

We are people m ade up
of physical,
spiritual, intellectual and emotional dimensions. We experience the world and the experiences we go through in the world, by
looking at
them thr ough
these dim ensions. This is not new.
We know that humanity has always considered these dim ensions. Rom an and Greek m ythology, Roman astrology and ancien t religions are all testimony to the very real role that spirituality has played in hum an development.
We perhaps identify best with the moment we see a m agnificent sunrise, or an amazing act of nature that leaves us in a state of bewilder m ent and wonder, recognizin g there are things in our life that are beyond our ability to contr ol. We have a conscious
or unconscious desire to know this power and it is what we can ter m spirituality.
When people think of spiritual
wellbeing, they comm only think of God. Whoever or whatever th ey conceive “him ” to be. Some con sider him a supreme being an d others consider
him as “the m an upstairs” a belligerent father figure. Still others reject the concept of any sort of being, and find their spirituality in the earth, or in nature.
So how do we discover the spiritual side of our personalities? Some people discover it through embracing form al religion,
others discover
it through yoga or some other form of m editation
that causes them to focus in on them selves and still oth ers go on a journey of self- discovery an d call this a religious
experience.
Som e have com pared this spiritual
awakening with a heightened sense of experiencing. As we allow our inner selves to experience life at a deeper level than just what seems obvious around us, we begin to relate to things in a different
way.
In whatever we choose to em br ace the spiritual
side of our personality, when we
do
focus on spiritual
self-awareness we com m only discover
we com e alive in our personality
and this has an effect on how we relate to self and other s.

Spirituality entails a lot of practices, som e are physical
som e ar e spiritual. Physically,
there are activities such as singing of religious hym ns or even sitting on the wheel of prayer.
As a m atter of fact, som e go to an extent of doing certain physiological body routines
before perform ing any spiritual
activity. H owever, one of the m ain activities
that lin k both spiritual
an d physiological activities is m editation.
This is the process through which m any spiritual
individual ten d to con nect with their inner spiritual realm and even connect with God. All in all, n ot everyon
e un derstands
th e im portance
of meditation
in spirituality. This can only be explained by understanding the power of meditation.
Behind It
Meditation is a vital tool for anyone who wishes to grow spiritually. For those who ignore meditation, th ey tend to suffer from un ease. Notice the difference, dis-ease and disease.
The latter is a disorder in the body while the other is a disorder in the spiritual
self that results in som e sort of discom fort.
This is m ainly brought about by that disconnection with God. In relation to this, m editation ten ds to con nect our souls with God hence bringing about growth of the spiritual
self. This is the main power of m editation
in term s of spiritual.
Basically, m editation
is said to h ave several benefits to th e m ind, body and soul. This is because the three are linked together to form the real you. As for th e soul, it gets its n ourish m ent from our con nection with God which can only be achieved by regularly m editating.
Therefore, not meditating is denying the soul its food.
This is h azardous;
just like denying the physical body food. With this trend, we might end up starving to death and the sam e will happen to the soul. An d a body with out a soul is ‘dead’. Therefore, if you feel some unease, then that is a sign that your soul is starving.Take action before tings get worse.
On the other hand, there are various levels of m editation each meant to serve a particular purpose. Many have the will to m editate but en d up frustrated in the en d due to lack of results.
Why do you think this happens? It is sim ply because
they perform the wrong meditation practices for their level hen ce bearing
no results.
For more information on meditation levels, consult a meditating expert who will give you directions
on the various m editation
levels and their uses. Therefore, you will be in a position to choose.

Although there are many different approaches to Chakra meditation, the fundamental principles rem ain th e same. The mo st im portant among these principles
is that of removing obstr uctive, negative, and wandering thoughts an d fantasies, an d calm ing the m in d with a deep sense of focus. This clears the m in d of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity.
Strategies
The negative th oughts you have – those of noisy neighbors, bossy officem ates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted
spam – are said to contribute
to the ‘polluting’ of the m ind, and sh utting them out is allows for the ‘cleansing’ of the m ind so that it may focus on deeper, m ore m ean ingful th oughts.
Som e practitioners even shut out all sensory input – no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch – an d try to detach th em selves fr om th e com m otion around them . You m ay n ow focus on a deep, profoun d thought if this is your goal. It m ay seem deafen ing at first, since we are all too accustom ed to constantly
hearing an d seeing things, but as you contin ue this exer cise you will find yourself
becom ing m ore aware of everything aroun d you.
If you find the m editating positions you see on television threatening those with im possibly arched backs, and painful-looking con tortions
– you need not worry. The principle
here is to be in a com fortable position con ducive to con centr ation. This m ay be wh ile sitting cross-legged,
standing, lying down, an d even walking.
If the position allows you to relax an d focus, then that would be a good starting point. While sitting
or standing, the back should be straight, but not tense or tight. In other position
s, the only no-n o is slouching an d
falling a sleep.
Loose, com fortable clothes h elp a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up an d m ake you feel tense.
The place you
perform m editation should have a soothing atm osphere.
It m ay be in your living room , or bedr oom , or any place that you feel com fortable in. You m ight want an exercise
mat if you plan to take on the m ore challengin
g positions (if you feel m or e focused doing so, and if the con tortionist
in you is
scream ing for release). You m ay want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.
Silence helps m ost people relax and m editate, so you m ay wan t a quiet, isolated
area far from the ringing of the phon e or the hum m ing of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up on arom atic can dles isn’t such a bad idea either.
The m onks you see on television
m aking those m onotonous sounds are actually
perform ing their m antra. This, in sim ple term s, is a short creed, a simple soun d which, for these practition ers, holds a m ystic value.
You do not need to perform such; h owever, it would pay to note that focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, an d humming help the practitioner enter a higher state of consciousness.
The prin ciple here is focus. You could also try focusing
on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight.
One sam ple routin e would be to – while in a m editative state
– silently nam e
every part of your body and focusing your con sciousness
on that part. While doin g this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally
visualize releasing this tension.
It works wonders.

According to the ancients,
there are certain vibrations, sounds, that correlate to the different
color vibrations of the chakras. What does ‘connecting’ mean? It is a feeling
that is easier to experien ce than to describe. Suppose you are trying to connect the throat friction with the area between the eyebrows,
for instance. In the beginn ing there is a simultaneous
awareness of them . Then a resonance autom atically takes place between th e two.
The area between the eyebrows seem s to vibrate together with the throat friction. Then a ‘m ixing’ takes place.
The throat
friction com bines
with the
feeling between
the eyebr ows. There is a com m unication
of energy between the larynx an d the Ch akra. That is what is m eant by ‘connecting’.
Connection
There follows a sim ple but essential
experience: the
perception of the Chakr a quickly becom es more distinct and tangible. This result is clear and instantaneous. The effect of the throat friction is to ‘give shape’, m ake things m ore substantial.
Therefore, when ever
you con nect the throat friction with a chakra or any other organ of energy the organ becomes
more
perceptible. The larynx
m akes things m anifest,
it reveals them .
A sim ilar effect will be observed when working on auras. You first have to build up the inner space and en gage the process of seeing.
Then som e exercises will show h ow your
perception of n on physical
halos an d auras are instantaneously boosted when com bining throat friction and vision. The lights and colors will appear
significantly ‘den ser’ and m ore tangible.
The throat friction can also be used to establish a linkage between different str uctures of en ergy. Not only can you connect the friction to the Ch akra or any other organ of energy, but you can also enh an ce the con nection between differ ent organs of energy,
and link them through the friction.
we see th at through

we express
our thoughts
and our emotions, which is a way of giving them a m ore defined for m . you will realize that the throat friction
m akes the Chakra m ore tangible, as if shaping it. You will tune into your Ch akra, an d as soon as you start
im plem enting the
thr oat friction,
the Chakra
will im m ediately be perceived m ore clearly and m ore
intensely.
